I promised you guys to show you the other pies I made a couple of weeks ago so here's the second one: a lemon meringue pie. Ever since I saw this pie for the first time in my Hummingbird Bakery cookbook, I knew I wanted to make it. And I knew it would be spectacular. So when we had visitors a couple of weeks ago, I thought it was a great occasion to make this pie. For the first time. Not the best idea I ever had.

Last weekend, my mother invited some friends over, so naturally this called for a lot of food. She made an amazing range of pasta dishes, but since this isn't a cooking blog, I'll skip that part. On to the desserts! I made three fruit-based desserts, which I will show you guys each in a separate post. Today I'll start with the crowd pleaser: an almond-pear flan.

     

1/ Obviously: the Kitchenaid artisan food processor. Who wouldn't want this beauty? 

2/ This super pretty Cherry Cupcakes Audrey Apron bij Jessie Steele. I always bake without wearing an apron, always leaving me and my clothes covered in flour. This apron wouldn't only prevent that from happening but would also make me look like a sixties housewife. Me likey! Get it here.

3/ 'Cake Days' by the Hummingbird Bakery. Their first cookbook is one of my favourites, so I'd be happy to add this one to my ever extending collection of cookbooks. 

Now I only need to win the lottery and all of this will be mine!
